The meeting will take place at the Faculty of Science, University of Ostrava, located in the district of Silesian Ostrava. The welcome party on the first evening, as well as all lectures and coffee breaks, will be held in the same building (see photo). The venue is within walking distance of the city centre of Ostrava, where most hotels are located, and is also easily accessible from various parts of the city by several bus and trolleybus lines (see details below).
HOW TO GET TO OSTRAVA
Participants travelling from abroad may find it most convenient to first travel to one of the following major cities, all of which are connected to Ostrava by regular direct train services:
- Prague – approximately 3 hours by train from Prague Main Station; many direct trains per day
- Vienna – approximately 3 hours by train from Vienna Main Station; direct trains every two hours (less frequently at weekends)
- Krakow – 2.5 to 3 hours (depending on the train) from Krakow Main Station; several direct trains per day
Other options include flying to Bratislava (Slovakia) or Katowice (Poland) and continuing to Ostrava by bus or train. In addition, Ostrava has a small airport located close to the city with direct flights from a limited number of destinations, notably including London Stansted, Girona, and Warsaw.
HOW TO GET TO THE FACULTY OF SCIENCE
The Faculty of Science is located in Building L of the University of Ostrava, situated at Chittussiho 983/10, 710 00 Slezská Ostrava . The building is easily accessible by public transport, with several bus and trolleybus stops within walking distance of the venue.
